Most people need orthodontic attention at some point, and it’s best to do it early. You and your child both want to have the best braces experience possible. That’s why Bradshaw & Hathaway would like you to be aware of all your choices. Here’s a brief outline of each one:

Traditional Braces: Traditional braces are lighter and more hard-wearing than they used to be. Metal stainless steel brackets are cemented to each tooth which are connected by a thin metal archwire. Your orthodontist, Dr. Daniel Bradshaw, will gradually tighten this wire at regular adjustment appointments to align the bite.

Ceramic Braces: Ceramic braces work the same way that traditional braces do, but are more aesthetically appealing, as the ceramic is designed to mimic the shade of the teeth.

Damon Braces: These braces employ a slide mechanism to move the teeth naturally, necessitating fewer orthodontic adjustments, fewer aches and quicker results. They’re even easier to clean.

Clear Aligners: Invisalign aligners are composed of a series of removable clear plastic aligners that look like thin personalized bite guards. Your child can take them out to eat or clean their teeth. Your child will visit us every six to eight weeks to get three new sets of aligners, each of which is designed to bring your child closer to the perfect smile.

Now that you know the basics, you and your child can visit Bradshaw & Hathaway in Johnson City, Tennessee with confidence. Dr. Daniel Bradshaw can give you more information about what is best for your child’s bite. Call us at 423-929-1126 today!
